At the end of 2020, Latin Superstar Shakira‘s “Girl Like Me” dance challenge found great success online. The album “Girl Like Me” created by The Black Eyed Peas and Shakira gained worldwide recognition after the superstar introduced the TikTok dance challenge. Taking the game a notch higher, Shakira is all set to star in and produce her own dance competition series for NBC.
With the new high-spirited dance competition series ‘Dancing With Myself’ she and NBC are looking for the best dancers from all around the world. In a press statement the superstar expressed her excitement to bring forth a dance competition that will be a creative movement with participants putting their personal expression forward. She is looking forward to building a sense of community with the show.
The singer-dancer also mentions how she is ‘blown away’ by the talent she has seen on various social media platforms. Dance has been a major part of her life and through the new show with NBC she is eager to show the world how transformative, empowering and fun dance is.
Dancing with Myself is being produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio and Irwin Entertainment. Each week will see a new group of dancers from all different walks of life participate in dance challenges created by the celebrities featured on the show, including Shakira.
The participants will have to learn the new routine quickly while adding their own personal touch to it before they perform it before LIVE audience. Shakira & Other judges will give their feedback while the studio audience will decide who gets the Best Dancer Of The Night award & prize money.
