Due to an impressive word-of-mouth buzz, the series “My Little Reindeer,” on Netflix, is making a record-breaking second week, rivaling some of the biggest productions.
Released quietly, without any promotion, the series My Little Reindeer is becoming a genuine phenomenon on the Netflix platform. Although this British drama does not feature any widely recognized stars in its cast, it’s the story – that of the actor-creator of the show – which is captivating the masses.
After an encouraging first week, the series experienced a surge in its second week with a leap of 408%. According to the Netflix & Numbers newsletter, this is a record for a production released on a Thursday. For comparison, the series Beef and One Day respectively experienced increases of 107 and 88%. This realization underscores the success of the series.
In its second week, My Little Reindeer was viewed by over 13 million subscribers. The series will not become a smash hit like Wednesday or Squid Game, but the budget and ambition are not at all the same. This second week marks the 12th best period in the entire history of the platform for a new series.
My Little Reindeer tells the tale of a comedian harassed by a young woman for several years. His daily life turns into a nightmare when the “stalker” jeopardizes his personal and professional life.
On social media, subscribers are becoming enthralled with this series, noting the superb performances of the two actors, Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning, as well as the numerous taboo subjects addressed throughout the plot.
My Little Reindeer is available on Netflix.
