Breaking News: Bruce Willis’ Health Update! Demi Moore Reveals He’s Stable Despite 2-Year Aphasia Battle!

Demi Moore recently shared an update on the health condition of Bruce Willis, her ex-husband, who was diagnosed with aphasia over two years ago. The “Die Hard” actor also received a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, a currently incurable degenerative brain disease, less than a year after his aphasia diagnosis.

The actor, at 69 years old, was diagnosed with the cognitive disorder, aphasia, in March 2022.

At the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival, Moore indicated that Willis’ health condition is stable. The “The Substance” star, who was honored with the fest’s career achievement in acting award, shared this update during a chat with Alina Cho, a journalist and member of the festival’s advisory board. Moore acknowledged the severity of Willis’ diagnosis, asserting that “the disease is what the disease is.”

According to People, Moore noted the importance of acceptance in dealing with such a situation. “You have to really accept it as it is,” she said.

Willis’ retirement from acting was announced by his family in 2022, coinciding with the news of his aphasia diagnosis.

Earlier in the year, Moore was open about her ways of coping with Willis’ health condition. In a conversation with Andy Cohen in January, she encouraged those with loved ones suffering from aphasia to focus on the present. She reiterated this advice at the Hamptons, telling Cho and the audience, “when you cling to the past, it’s a losing battle.”

She added, “But when you meet them where they are, there’s a lot of beauty and sweetness.”

Willis has been married to Emma Heming Willis since 2009. However, the affection between Moore and Willis, who were married from 1987 to 2000, is still evident. They share three daughters, Rumer, Scout LaRue, and Tallulah. Moore mentioned that she recently visited Willis, Rumer, and her little granddaughter Louetta, emphasizing the joy in “being able to share whatever we have, for however long we have it.”

Moore, at the age of 61, was honored at the HIFF for her remarkable role in Coralie Fargeat’s body horror film, “The Substance,” which provides a thought-provoking, albeit gruesome, perspective on aging and fame.

Moore, in a recent conversation with The Times, stressed the importance of self-appreciation. “That powerful reminder to appreciate who you are, where you are, and as you are, became even more poignant as the process went on,” she said. “And it’s not just about external appearances. It’s really about those inner aspects of ourselves that we often take for granted. And the journey it takes to get to where we are.”
