IPL 2019 has been quite disappointing for the team Kolkata Knight Riders. After having a great start in the beginning, with 4 wins out of first 5 fives, the team lost the following 5 matches and stood lowly at 6th position on the points table. With just 4 wins out of a total of 10 games, KKR is now in a danger of losing a play-off spot and needs to win the rest of the 4 games to progress in the league. And now, as the Knight Riders gear up to get back on track to winning days, a huge decision has been taken by the franchise.
KKR have released skipper Dinesh Karthik as well as senior batsman Robin Uthappa temporarily to let the two senior players spend a little time away from cricket and get back their rhythm. Both Karthik and Uthappa have had a poor run-of-form which has affected their reputation. This is one the reasons behind KKR facing mid season crisis in the league this year.
Meanwhile, both the players have made a decision to head over to Mumbai to train themselves under KKR mentor Abhishek Nayar.
Notably, the franchise has also released three other players, wicketkeeper Nikhil Naik and pacers Prithvi Raj and Shrikant Mundhe from the team temporarily.
