The creator of “Peaky Blinders”, Steven Knight, is making a splash on Netflix with a new series based on… Guinness beer!
It seems that Steven Knight never sleeps. In February 2025, he presented his two-part series A Thousand Blows on Disney+, inspired by the story of the all-female gang known as the Forty Elephants in 1880s London.
And just 7 short months later, the creator of the cult series Peaky Blinders returns to Netflix with (already!) a new project: House of Guinness, the incredible story of the Guinness dynasty set against the backdrop of the Irish civil war!

What’s it about?
We’re in the 19th century. The Guinness patriarch, Sir Benjamin Guinness, has just passed away. The founder of the extraordinary brewery of the same name, which exports beers worldwide, leaves a heavy legacy to his four children…
But family squabbles will have to be short-lived, as revolt is brewing in Ireland. The supporters of the union and those of independence are at daggers drawn, elections are fast approaching… The atmosphere is more explosive than ever. Will the Guinness family manage to weather this storm?
Pure Peaky Blinders
We’ve seen the first episodes and we guarantee, if you love Peaky Blinders, you will find all the ingredients that made the first major series by Steven Knight a success. Plots, mafia showdowns, absolutely crazy period decor and costumes… House of Guinness is ruthless competition!
Netflix
Steven Knight’s talent is undeniable, and here he applies his tried and true formula for success. The series is filled with visually stunning scenes, as well as moments of intense drama that give the actors ample opportunity to showcase their talent.
Golden Talents
We knew that James Norton (a serious contender to play James Bond!) and Louis Partrige (Enola Holmes, Disclaimer) were excellent actors, but we were blown away by the discovery of Fionn O’Shea, in his first major role, and especially by Emily Fairn, the Guinness sister, whose career only started two years ago! And let’s not forget the eldest of the family, Anthony Boyle, who is also brilliant in the series.
So, if you’re looking for an intense, historical, and spectacular series, House of Guinness is the one for you! And while alcohol should be consumed in moderation, the same doesn’t apply to series!
House of Guinness is available on Netflix from September 25.
