Ryan Reynolds has publicly announced the name of his youngest child, more than a year after the child was born to his wife, Blake Lively.
The star of the much-anticipated Marvel movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” disclosed this information about their fourth child during the global premiere of his latest film on Monday. Reynolds has been actively promoting his upcoming film, set to open this Friday. The film also features Hugh Jackman, who is reprising his famous Wolverine role from the “Logan” and “X-Men” series.
Reynolds, who is also known for his role in “Free Guy”, took the opportunity to convey his gratitude to his entire family while sharing the stage with Shawn Levy, the director of “Deadpool”, and his fellow cast members during the event held in New York.
“First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to my wife Blake, who is here with us. Just for the record, her attire is absolutely stunning – here’s your spoiler alert!” Reynolds remarked, referring to the stunning outfit Lively wore for the premiere. (Lively, a “Gossip Girl” veteran, was spotted in an elegant Deadpool-themed Versace jumpsuit that complemented well with the Wolverine-themed Miu Miu attire her friend Gigi Hadid wore for the event.)
“I also want to extend my thanks to my children – James, Inez, Betty, Olin – who are all here,” he continued, as reported by ABC News. “I hope that the most distressing part of your wonderful lives will be the scenes from this movie, if I’m fortunate enough.”
So, there it is. The youngest addition to their family is Olin. They are parents to three girls and Olin.
Reynolds, 36, and Lively, who tied the knot in 2012, embraced parenthood for the fourth time in February 2023. Although the couple has not yet disclosed the gender of the newborn, they have humorously teased about their close friend Taylor Swift revealing hints about their children. The pop sensation had previously named three of their children in her 2020 track “Betty.”
“We usually rely on Taylor to let us know what our child’s name is, and I must say, we’re still waiting,” Reynolds humorously commented during an appearance on the “Today” show in May.
Earlier this week, the “IF” actor also made a playful comment about the hefty price tag that comes with having Swift as a nanny.
“I think our accountant described it as ‘prohibitively expensive,’” he shared during a joint interview with Jackman on E! News. “I believe what he actually meant was, ‘This-is-crazy-what-are-you-thinking-I-can’t-be-your-accountant-anymore.’”
On the other hand, Lively has been actively promoting her husband’s forthcoming film. Prior to the premiere on Monday, she took to Instagram to highlight how “Deadpool & Wolverine” was inspired by “y2k girlies.”
“Show me that Deadpool is married to a millennial woman in real life without actually telling me,” the “It Ends With Us” actress said in the video, which included a montage of her speculated contributions. Her latest film is slated to release on August 9.
