With her latest album ‘Folklore’, Taylor Swift has broken a new record by surviving on the top list for more than 7 weeks now. Her latest album has risen to the top slot on the Billboard 200 album chart and has stayed there for 7 non consecutive weeks. In total her songs have been on the top for 47 weeks. The Billboard 200 chart based on the sales of the album ranks the various songs/albums as the most popular albums in the US.
Taylor Swift’s Folklore performance in the recent Academy of Country Music Awards got the album more boost. She performed ‘Betty’ from the Folklore album LIVE and released the song immediately after the performance. It helped the song get a lot of attention and a sudden boost. This album has achieved career defining moments for the artist.
She has been on the list for many weeks surpassing Whitney Houston’s record for having a song for the most weeks at No. 1 by a woman on the Billboard 200 album chart. Whitney Houston hit the no. 1 position with her debut album ‘Whitney Houston’ in 1986, following it by ‘Whitney’, soundtrack ‘The Bodyguard’ and ‘I Look To You’.
