The Walking Dead was once the most-watched TV series on television. It was one of its kind and had a loyal fan following. However, the show will be coming to an end in 2022. The final season, TWD 11, will make of 24 long episodes.

AMC announced on Wednesday that it is bringing the Walking Dead series to an end. The series is set to conclude after an expanded 24-episode 11th season. It seems the 11th season will air in two parts over two years. But the makers promise the fans that the show will live on.

There have been talks about an untitled spin-off of the Walking Dead series. AMC said it had given the green light for the spin-off. The spinoff will be starring Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, who plays Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier in the current series.

That show is set to premiere in 2023, right after the wrap up of The Walking Dead in 2022. The current “Walking Dead” showrunner Angela Kang will be at the helm of the new show. Kang and Scott M. Gimple created the show together. Gimple is the chief content officer of “The Walking Dead” universe.

Gimple said that the TWD series would live on. He shared that they still have so much storytelling to do, they want to speak about new characters and stories, and the new series will give room for that. Kang and Gimple are excited to create a new story together. Gimple shared that the wrap up of The Walking Dead will be an opening for new stories of the Walking Dead universe.
