Today, Prime Video releases “Hotel Costiera”, an action comedy led by a former star of Grey’s Anatomy.
What’s Jesse Williams up to now? Since hanging up his white doctor’s coat in 2022, the former Dr. Jackson Avery has been busy with various discreet projects. After a stint on Broadway and making memorable appearances on Grey’s Anatomy, the actor is back with a brand new role.
This Wednesday, Williams stars in Hotel Costeria, an action comedy that Prime Video subscribers can binge-watch starting today. A joint Italian-American production, the series follows Daniel De Luca, an Italian-American ex-marine who is hired by a luxury hotel to handle the problems of their wealthy clientele. At the same time, Daniel is hunting down the man who kidnapped his daughter.

Hotel Costeria was filmed on the Amalfi Coast, one of Italy’s most beautiful locations. While Jesse Williams is the lead, the rest of the cast and production teams are all from Italy.
The series was created by Luca Bernabe and directed by Emmy winner Adam Bernstein (for 30 Rock), and features a cast including Maria Chiara Giannetta (Don Matteo), Jordan Alexandra (The Winter King), Antonio Gerardi (Bang Bang Baby), Sam Haygarth (Extraordinary), Tommaso Ragno (Monterossi), Amanda Campana (Summertime), Pierpaolo Spollon (DOC – Nelle tue mani), and Alejandra Onieva (High Seas).
Hotel Costeria is a chance to see the former Grey’s Anatomy star in a completely new role: “After leaving the show I’d been on for so long, I tried to do a lot of things I’d never done before. I went straight to Broadway and acted in independent films. Then I thought, ‘Why not leave the country and do something elsewhere? I gained a lot of international fame thanks to the show, which helped me,” he shared in this interview.
The Prime Video series promises plenty of action and a good dose of comedy. Jessie Williams not only physically prepared for the role, but also took Italian lessons with a private tutor – his character having grown up in Naples.
The first season of Hotel Costeria, comprised of 6 episodes, is now available on Prime Video.
