Netflix’s Heartstopper Season 3 Release Date Revealed – Plus a Stunning Surprise You Won’t Believe!

Heartstopper, the cutest show on Netflix, is set to return this October, and a newly released teaser is bound to put a smile on your face.

Alice Oseman, the writer of the Heartstopper graphic novel, announced last weekend on social media that a new teaser was coming, and it’s finally here. After weeks of anticipation, Netflix finally reveals the launch date for Season 3: October 3rd, when we’ll be reunited with our favorite on-screen couple.

But that’s not the only good news. The streaming platform has also released a short clip in which we see Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) share an incredibly endearing scene that’s a direct adaptation from Oseman’s comic.

Season 3 will chronicle the first “I love you” from the high schooler dealing with eating disorders as he slowly opens up. This will be the central theme of the new episodes, as confirmed by the author:

“We’re going to continue to delve deep into the spectrums of mental health and explore how it affects the relationship between Nick and Charlie and other friendships in the show. So, people who have read volume four will have a little idea of what’s coming. I’m really excited to take the show in a new direction.”

This teaser for Season 3 of Heartstopper also features an exclusive snippet of a new song by Billie Eilish. Titled “Birds of a Feather,” it will be available on the album Hit me Hard and Soft starting May 17th.

What will Season 3 of Heartstopper entail?

On top of the teaser, Netflix has also released the official synopsis for Season 3:

“Charlie wants to tell Nick that he loves him. Nick also has something important to tell Charlie. As the summer holidays come to an end and the months roll by, friends start to realize that the school year will bring both joys and challenges. As they learn more about each other and their relationships, plan social events and parties, and begin to contemplate university choices, each one must learn to lean on those they love when life doesn’t go as planned.”

Quite a full plate.

Absences and new faces

A new season brings new faces. While Olivia Colman (Charlie’s mom) and Sebastian Croft (Ben) will not return in Season 3, Netflix has announced the introduction of three new characters, portrayed by three beloved British actors.

Jonathan Bailey, known from Bridgerton, will portray Jack Maddox, an author famous on Instagram who Charlie has a crush on. We’ll also see Hayley Atwell (Captain America) as Diane, Nick’s aunt who takes him on a summer vacation to Minorca and gives him advice about his relationship with Charlie. Finally, Eddie Marsan has been cast as Geoff, Charlie’s therapist who will help him with his eating disorder.

Mark your calendars for October 3rd to catch all these characters on Netflix!
