After a six-year hiatus, the highly anticipated third season of this popular series is finally arriving.
The most powerful and yet unlikely superhero is set to make a comeback. After a six-year wait, the third season of the anime One-Punch Man is finally set to air in early October on Crunchyroll.
The show, an adaptation of a cult manga, follows the story of Saitama, a superhero so powerful that he can defeat his enemies with just one punch. His atypical look and laid-back personality, however, make it hard for him to be taken seriously, especially by the Hero Association. The second season introduced Garoh, a martial arts enthusiast and supervillain whose powers continue to grow with each battle.
Season 2 left fans of the series disappointed
Straddling parody and action, One-Punch Man has also found great success in its French version, thanks to the voiceover work of rapper Orelsan. The artist, who voices Saitama, also collaborated with the Japanese band JAM Project on the opening theme for season 2.
The third season will begin with a recap episode of season 2, a necessary refresher after such a long break. The delay can be attributed in part to criticism of the animation in the previous season. Although a change in studio was considered, the series continues to be animated by the teams at J.C. Staff.
We can only hope that these six years have allowed the studio to significantly improve the animation work. Fans are hoping that season 3 will live up to their expectations. The season premiere is scheduled for October 5th on Crunchyroll, with new episodes starting on October 12th.
