Apple TV+ has canceled “Constellation”, starring Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, after just one season.
The science fiction series Constellation, which debuted in February and featured Noomi Rapace as the lead, has been canceled by Apple TV+ after its first season, according to Variety.
The Swedish actress, famous for her role as Lisbeth Salander in the Millennium films, plays Jo, an astronaut who finds that key aspects of her life seem to have disappeared upon her return to Earth following a space disaster. She embarks on a quest to unveil the truth about the hidden history of space travel and recover what she has lost.
In addition to Noomi Rapace, the cast includes James D’Arcy as Magnus, Julian Looman as Frederic, William Catlett as Paul, Barbara Sukowa as Irena and Rosie, and Davina Coleman as Alice.

The first two episodes of Constellation aired on February 21, with the series continuing until March. The show has a rating of 71% on Rotten Tomatoes and an average viewer score of 3.7 out of 5 on AlloCiné. French critics were even more favorable, awarding the series an average of 4 out of 5!
Apple TV+ has not provided any explanation as to why the show was canceled. Low viewership seems to be the most likely cause, although the platform’s communication has been notably discreet. The complex storyline of the series may have been a factor in retaining viewership.
Constellation was created by Peter Harness, known for writing episodes of Doctor Who, McMafia, and Jackson Brodie, Private Detective. The entire first season is available on Apple TV+.
