Stranger Things Stars Fear Repeating Nightmare of This Iconic Show’s Fate!

Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike in “Stranger Things”, has shared his worries that the series’ ending might not live up to fans’ expectations.

On December 31st, Netflix will release the final episode of Stranger Things. The conclusion of its flagship series will undoubtedly usher in a new era for the platform, ending a story that has spanned almost a decade. The cast, who were children when they began filming the first season, are now young adults for its final season.

Even the series’ stars were afraid of being disappointed by the ending

Just a few weeks away from the airing of the first part of this fifth season, Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, has opened up about the expectations surrounding this grand finale. The Canadian actor revealed to Time Magazine his fears that the end of Stranger Things might be as heavily criticized by fans as the end of Game of Thrones was.

Many fans of the fantasy series found the ending disappointing, and not up to par with the quality of previous seasons. Often cited as one of the biggest television events in recent years, the airing of the Game of Thrones finale is also considered one of the most disappointing moments in the history of American television.

“I think everyone was worried, to be honest,” Finn Wolfhard told our colleagues. “The way Game of Thrones was ripped apart for its last season, we thought ‘Let’s hope the same thing doesn’t happen to us’. But then we read the scripts. And then we realized that our ending will be really special.”

When will Season 5 be aired on Netflix?

This seems like a promise that the finale of Stranger Things will indeed meet expectations. The creators of the show, Ross and Matt Duffer, have repeatedly said that they have had the ending of the series in mind for several years, and it’s not something they had to come up with at the last minute.

Season 5 will be aired on Netflix in three parts: the first part will be available from November 26th, the second part on December 24th, and finally, the very last episode (which will be around two hours long, equivalent to a feature film) will be available from December 31st. After that, it will all be over, especially since the creators’ move to Paramount+ seems to definitively seal any hopes of spin-offs or other derivative projects…

The first four seasons of Stranger Things are already exclusively available on Netflix.
