One of the most beloved French animated series is getting a live-action adaptation! This is exciting news for those who were fans in the early 2000s.
This French animated series is one of the most popular and it left a lasting impression on a whole generation in the early 2000s. The show, a huge hit in France and internationally, has already seen two reboots, a spin-off, and even a movie.
Its seventh season, which rejuvenates the franchise with a new design and a more modern and inclusive plot, has been airing since May 2024.
Totally Spies in live-action!
A recent announcement has revealed an exciting new project. This animated series is going to be adapted into a live-action series! Variety reports that the famous spies from Totally Spies! will be brought to life in a brand new series produced for Prime Video.
This live-action drama, a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Banijay Kids & Family, and produced by Will Ferrell, does not have a showrunner or cast yet.
However, it will follow the same storyline as the animated series, chronicling the adventures of three friends – Sam, Clover, and Alex – who are college students by day and secret agents by night.

These professional spies work for WOOHP, a covert organization charged with protecting humanity. When their boss Jerry requires their assistance, he sends them on a mission, outfitted in skin-tight, colored latex suits (yellow for Alex, red for Clover, and green for Sam), and provides them with wildly popular gadgets to help them carry out their investigations.
Since its inception in 2001 by David Michel, Vincent Chalvon-Demersay, and Gil Formosa, Totally Spies! has been a real phenomenon captivating many children and teenagers.
The adventures of Sam, Clover, and Alex take inspiration from Charlie’s Angels, and the tone of the show, combining humor and action, is a parody of teen flicks and spy movies with numerous pop culture references and a twist on stereotypes.
Season 7 of “Totally Spies!” is currently airing on Gulli. The first two seasons are available on Netflix. Seasons 4 to 7 can be streamed on myCANAL.
