The star of “The Irishman” and “X-Men” unveiled this latest accessory at the New York debut of her movie “A Bit of Light” on Wednesday evening. During the event, she shared that she has been grappling with undisclosed health problems for the past two challenging years.
“The journey hasn’t been simple,” the 41-year-old Paquin confessed to People.
As People magazine reported on the same day, these health complications have affected Paquin’s mobility, necessitating the use of a cane. In addition to this, Paquin revealed to the publication that her speech has also been hampered by her undisclosed condition.
An insider informed People that they are optimistic about Paquin’s full recovery. However, further details about the actress’s health status have remained undisclosed.
A spokesperson for the star of the Academy Award-winning film “The Piano” did not promptly respond to a request for additional comments from The Times on Thursday.
In the movie “A Bit of Light,” distributed by Quiver, Paquin portrays Ella, a woman striving to rebuild her relationship with her two daughters. In her journey, she finds companionship in a teenage boy, Luca Hogan, who helps Ella “reclaim her self-esteem,” as per the movie’s trailer.
At the movie’s debut, Paquin shared with People that her work provides her solace amidst her health struggles, stating, “my initial passion was indie filmmaking.”
“That was my entrance into the film industry. I worked with individuals committed to narrating stories with authenticity and honesty,” she added.
Among those who collaborated with Paquin in “A Bit of Light” is her husband, actor, and director Stephen Moyer. The couple is parents to 11-year-old fraternal twins, Charlie and Poppy.
“A Bit of Light” also features actors Ray Winstone, Pippa Bennett-Warner, and Youssef Kerkour. The movie will be released in selected theaters and on video-on-demand platforms on Friday.
