Shocking Truth: The First Lady Will NOT Star in Netflix’s Emily in Paris!

Is Brigitte Macron set to feature in Netflix’s most stylish show? Why was the First Lady on the set of “Emily in Paris”? We’ve got the scoop.

After the Daily Mail released images of Brigitte Macron on the Emily in Paris set in early April, social media users were buzzing with speculation about the possibility of the French First Lady making a cameo in Netflix’s hit series.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the continuation of the adventures of American Emily Cooper in the French capital since the third season of Emily in Paris ended more than a year ago. Since February, the crew has been shooting the fourth season on the streets of Paris, much to the chagrin of the local residents. This has, however, given fans a chance to spot Lily Collins, Ashley Park (Mindy), who’s back after a serious health issue, Camille Razat (Camille), and Bruno Gouery (Luc) around the city. Now, they can add Brigitte Macron to that list!

A source from the Élysée Palace confirmed to AlloCiné that Mrs. Macron did indeed visit the set of the show’s fourth season on Tuesday, April 2. However, it was merely a friendly visit, and no, Brigitte Macron will not be appearing in Emily in Paris! During a meeting in December 2022 at the Élysée, Darren Star, the creator of the show, and Lily Collins had invited her to visit the set of the upcoming season, an invitation she accepted this year.

Just another fan

Brigitte Macron’s visit to the set also comes after Lily Collins revealed in an interview on Late Show with Stephen Colbert in December 2022 that the First Lady is a big fan of the show. When asked if she had met Emmanuel Macron, Collins said no, but she had met his wife who was a fan of the show… in which she has sort of already appeared!

In the first season of the show, Emily’s career took off when one of her social media posts was shared by Brigitte Macron. In the episode titled “Masculin Féminin” (season 1, episode 2), Emily is tasked with promoting a product called “Vaga-Jeune”, aimed at combating vaginal dryness. Emily was outraged to learn that the French word for “vagina” is masculine and decided to post about it, declaring “The Vagina is not masculine!”. Carla Bruni saw the post and sent it to Brigitte Macron with the message: “Brigitte, you have to see this!” The First Lady then shared the post on Twitter, writing: “Exactly!”, as you can see in the photos below.

So, in a way, the circle is almost complete: Brigitte Macron seems to be a fan just like any other!

While no release date has been announced for the fourth season of Emily in Paris, we can expect it to premiere in late 2024 or early 2025. In the meantime, the first three seasons of the series are available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
