Anu Malik banned from YRF Studios on ground of #MeToo allegations

The #Metoo wave hit Bollywood when actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual abuse. From then on many high profile actors, directors and Bollywood big shots have been accused of sexual misconduct.

Anu Malik, who is well known as the composer of “ Ek garam chai ki pyali ho”, stands accused of not one but many sexual harassment cases. The composer acted as the judge of the singing reality show Indian Idol for many years.

In his tenure as a judge on the sets of Indian Idol many female singers have accused him of sexual misconduct. The Ambarsariya singer Sona Mohapatra has also accused the composer along with Alisha Chinai and Shweta Pandit.

The YRF Management is very strict regarding who they let in to their studio. They even fired their senior executive Ashish Patel on grounds of sexual assault. Now, Anu Malik is banned from entering the YRF studios because of the multiple sexual harassment cases against him.

YRF has a strict policy for sexual offenders and Anu Malik is on their blacklist now. Sona Mohapatra who is one of the victims commended the step of YRF. She even made a post on Instagram.

Pandit who accused Anu Malik, calling him a “pedophile” . She said he harassed her when he was a minor. She also commends the move made by YRF. But Anu Malik’s lawyer calls these accusations baseless and a character assassination of the composer.
