Emilia Clarke, who is best known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen, in the television series Game of Thrones, recently took to Instagram to thank her fans. Not all fans are happy with how the show ended. Many are voting for a remake of the final season, and the petition has gathered 1.6 million views till date.
But it is not for this petition that she is thanking her fans for. Emilia Clarke is a real life Khaleesi. She suffers from chronic illness. After her second aneurysm , she founded Same You. It is a charity for those who suffer from Brain Injuries and strokes. As Emilia herself is a patient of chronic illness, and also undergone a surgery herself, she founded this organization to help people with similar problems.
Fans took matter into their own hands and a Reddit user elle_ellaria raised $75000 for the brain injury charity she set up. The fan wrote “As someone who suffers from chronic illness, Emilia’s portrayal of Daenerys means so much more since finding out what she went through”.
Emilia took to her Instagram to thank her fans in a touching video, She captioned it “Ok so ‘speechless’ is a very fluid term…. That I’ve ignored in this rambling video BUT how could I be when there are so many thank you’s to give to YOU AMAZING HUMAN BEANS!!!!! Bloody hell, I am one very lucky lady to have such kind, generous, shining spirited fans who are raising money for my charity @sameyouorg.
Ellen Elaria and your reddit page where you have raised almost 38,000 pounds has made my day, my week , month , year, decade and I couldn’t think of a more beautiful way to wave goodbye to the mother of dragons than this step towards making brain injury sufferers feel less alone. YOU ARE MY HEROS. I am the one who should be bending my knee to you.”
In the video she said “I’m incredibly moved and blown away and grateful, It’s extraordinary what you guys have done. You’ve given me a wrap gift. I’m genuinely completely lost for words.”
Even though the Khaleesi died, fans gave her a fitting farewell by contributing to her charity.
Daenerys Targaryen, the first of her name, Queen of the Andals, The Rhoynar and the First Men, The Rightful Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and the Protector of the Realm, Queen of the Dragonstone, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, Breaker of the chains and the Mother of Dragons, regent of the Realm, she takes a bow from her fans with this grand gesture.
