Henry Cavill, known for his role in “The Witcher,” is transitioning into a new phase of life. The actor is expecting his first child with his partner Natalie Viscuso, an entertainment executive, as confirmed by The Times.
During the red-carpet premiere for his upcoming film, “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” in New York on Monday, the actor touched upon this exciting news. Cavill, who is also recognized for his roles in “Justice League” and “The Tudors,” expressed his enthusiasm about becoming a father.
“We’re both very thrilled about it,” Cavill, 40, shared with “Access Hollywood.” He added, “You can expect to hear more on this soon.”
When asked whether his co-star Henry Golding, a father of two, inspired him to embark on the journey of parenthood, Cavill humorously responded: “Well, no. My parents were my inspiration.”
On Tuesday, The Times reached out to Cavill’s representatives for a comment, but they chose not to respond.
Cavill, often dubbed as the “Man of Steel,” and Viscuso, the vice president of Vertigo Entertainment, publicly confirmed their relationship in April 2021. They posted a picture of themselves engaged in a chess match on Instagram, marking their relationship as official.
“Here’s me, exuding confidence before my gorgeous and intelligent love Natalie, beats me at chess,” Cavill wrote in the caption. Viscuso, in her own post, teased, “I’m teaching my dear Henry how to play chess…or maybe he allowed me to win?”
The duo made their red-carpet appearance together in New York City in October 2022 for the premiere of Cavill’s Netflix film “Enola Holmes 2.” They were seen together once more in January at the London premiere of Cavill’s action-comedy movie “Argylle.”
The couple not only shares a love for chess but also for tabletop games. This shared interest is being transformed into a professional project. In December 2022, they announced their plans to adapt the game “Warhammer 40,000” into a live-action franchise.
“I’ve dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action for 30 years,” Cavill shared on Instagram after announcing his departure from “The Witcher” and the DC Extended Universe. He continued, “With over two decades in the industry, I now feel equipped to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into existence.”
“Collaborating with Natalie Viscuso at Vertigo has been an absolute blessing. Without her, we might not have found a perfect fit at Amazon,” he added.
In February, Cavill expressed his excitement about the opportunity, calling it “the highest honor of my professional career.”
He said on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, “I can’t divulge much at this point. However, I am thrilled to have the chance to ensure the adaptation stays true to its essence. This is something I’ve been fascinated with since my childhood, and I’ve spent my free time fantasizing about it as an adult. Bringing it to life is the very reason I joined the industry.”
