“Carry on my wayward son!”, will not ring again in our ears as the series finally comes to an end next year. You would expect a series to fizzle out after 14 seasons, but it is as strong as it was when Jensen Ackles didn’t need a shave.
Neither the network nor the show kicked them out. But it was a mutual decision taken by the cast, the crew, the writers and everyone involved. Jared Padelecki who is a fan favourite, and plays the role of Sam Winchester said. “It wasn’t an easy decision. It was months and months if not years of discussion between he and I, between our writers, between our producers, between the studio, between the network. Nobody wanted the show to fizzle out.”
He admitted that nobody wanted to see the show die, and they wanted to finish it off strong. So, they did not right away put a full stop. But the fourteenth season is on now, and next year the show wraps up with its 15th season.
He also explained why they wait a year to give off a proper farewell to the series. “All signs were pointing to next year. We are not done. We have a whole another year, so I didn’t get sad at the end of my junior high school going. I’m so sad it’s over. No, I’ve still got an entire senior year to go!”
Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins are the darlings of the show. They are the ones who make the show a lovely blend of dark humour and grizzly scenes. The show helped the boys, build a family outside of family. And Jared even met his wife on the sets of Supernatural, season 4, where she plays a demon named Ruby.
Next year is a sad year for all the Supernatural fans. They will bid goodbye to the show in March Next year. And the “family business” of the Winchesters comes to an end. We hope the show gets a worthy farewell.
