Billie Eilish’s Shocking Revelations Beyond ‘Barbie, Barbie, Barbie’ Promotion!

Billie Eilish has expressed exhaustion over repeatedly discussing her award-winning “Barbie” track.

The artist, who together with her brother Finneas, penned “What Was I Made For?” for Greta Gerwig’s film, finally made time to share her feelings about the demanding process of publicizing the song and being present at numerous awards events.

“Honestly, it feels like people can’t get enough of me,” she shared with Rolling Stone. “Every moment of every day is all about Barbie, which is awesome, but the minute the Oscars finish and if I end up losing, I’m out of here. I’m simply disappearing.”

Contrary to her statement, she didn’t lose the Academy Award for original song, but she and Finneas made history as the youngest two-time Oscar recipients. The pair also secured a Golden Globe and a Grammy for the successful track.

Eilish disclosed to the publication, in what seemed to be her first interview not centered around “Barbie” in over a year, that the song had gained more popularity than she had expected.

The 22-year-old chart-topper is preparing to launch her third album, “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” on May 17. Even though her forthcoming work explores diverse sounds and more grown-up themes than her past work, she and Finneas, who participated in the interview, indicated that the first track of the album is in line with “What Was I Made For?”

She and Finneas faced a creative block when they were developing the “Barbie” soundtrack, which led to the creation of this new song first, she explained.

The song, whose title is yet to be unveiled, served as the inspiration for the sensitive and emotional “Barbie” track, exhibiting a similar quiet tone and a graceful melody. It delves into the misconception that weight loss equals happiness—a recurring emotional issue, much like the one in “What Was I Made For?”, that frequently affects girls and women as they mature.

Eilish, aged 22, expressed that she felt as if she had been continuously creating music and working since her rise to fame as a teenager.

“I had this realization like, ‘Wow, I haven’t had fun in seven years.’ Really. I was under the impression that I had, because who gets to attend the Grammys at pretty much 17 and win five?” she pondered. “But in terms of life experiences, I realized I hadn’t had many. I didn’t step outside for five years. How was I supposed to have any experiences?”

Since the year 2019, the artist has released two albums, composed and performed tracks for “No Time to Die” and “Barbie” (securing Oscars for both), starred at Coachella and collected numerous Grammys. After the extensive and very pink “Barbie” promotional tour, she admitted feeling relieved to take a breather.

That is, until her subsequent album initiates a fresh cycle.
