As a child, Yoon Ah-yi (Choi Sung-eun) dreamed of becoming a magician. Now, she’s a disillusioned high school student who can’t even afford new socks. Left by her parents, she struggles to provide for herself and her younger sister.

Despite juggling part-time work and school, Ah-yi is one of the top students in her class. Her only desire is to grow up quickly and find a stable job. But when she encounters the mysterious magician Lee Eul (Ji Chang-wook) in an abandoned amusement park and shares her dream with him, her life takes a dramatic turn, and a small glimmer of hope emerges.

At the same time, her classmate, Na Il-deung (Hwang In-yeop), a cold and wealthy student, also begins to take an interest in magic after following Ah-yi…

Based on the webtoon of the same name (“Annarasumanara” in romanized Korean, equivalent to “Abracadabra”) by Ha Il-kwon, The Sound of Magic premiered exclusively on Netflix in 2022. Directed by Kim Seong-yoon and written by Kim Min-jeong, the series was an instant hit.

The reasons for its success? The Sound of Magic is a unique series that blends drama, music, and fantasy elements. It has been particularly praised for its stunning visuals, colorful aesthetic, musical touch, and magnetic surrealism. But it’s also the sincere performances of its actors and their impressive vocal abilities that have captivated viewers.
