Although the numbers are not that convincing for a film that stars Deepika in the lead role. The film is based on real-life story of an acid attack survivor and the movie has strong content in it.
The film is a conventional entertainer and was expected to perform well in the major multiplexes across the country. It exactly happened! The film got a spectacular response from the critics, which was initially expected. Critics have praised the performances of Deepika Padukone, Vikrant Massey, Ankit Bisht, and DelzadHiwale, who appear to dominate the film entirely.
As expected, word of mouth is also playing a significant role in collecting decent numbers at the box office. After the success of Padmaavat, it also remarks about the comeback of Deepika Padukone. As she has come back after her marriage, this project was always a risky attempt for her. However, she has stood by her instincts and trusted the vision of Meghna Gulzar, and delivered her best in this movie.
