Chhapaak, starring Vikrant Massey and Deepika Padukone in the lead role, is facing stiff competition from Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior at the box office. Although the movie garnered many positive reviews from the critics and audiences, the positive word of mouth of the film is not helping to churn money at the theatres. The film is based on the real story of an acid attack survivor, Laxmi Aggarwal.
Chhapaak has been able to collect about 19.02 crores at the box office in the first three days and is witnessing a slow start this Monday. According to the reports, the movie saw an occupancy of about 9 to 11 percent at the theatres this morning. This movie needs a real push to collect high numbers at the box office if the current trend continues.
Chhapaak, the movie that is directed by Meghna Gulzar, is inspired by the real events and focuses on the struggle Laxmi Agarwal, the acid-attack survivor, faced in her life. Also, the movie got into a controversy as several politicians are not happy with the scenes shown in the film.
Kunti Soni, who has also played a prominent role in the movie, is sad over the politics that’s circulating and has stated that people are giving their opinions without seeing the film. They are not understanding the pain that Laxmi and other acid-attack survivors have gone through. Well, stay tuned to know more about the box-office collections of the film. Did you watch the film?
