George Clooney Begs to Join Cast of Hit Series Rated 4.3/5 – He’s Obsessed!

George Clooney, the renowned actor, has expressed his admiration for “The Pitt,” a series on HBO Max, and has even shared his desire to join the medical drama in a future season!

The first season of “The Pitt,” created by R. Scott Gemmill and featuring Noah Wyle, both of whom having previously worked on the iconic show “ER,” has been a tremendous hit on HBO. The real-time storytelling aspect (50 minutes of episode equates to 50 minutes in the characters’ lives) of this intense and moving medical drama has garnered universal praise, making it one of the top-rated series of 2025.

Receiving 5 Emmy Awards, including Best Drama Series, and highly-rated by AlloCiné users with an impressive average score of 4.3 out of 5, it turns out that one of the show’s many fans is none other than “ER” alum, George Clooney!

George Clooney, an ardent fan of The Pitt

During the press tour for his film “Jay Kelly” (set to debut on Netflix on December 5, 2025), Clooney praised the work of his former colleague Noah Wyle on “Entertainment Tonight.” He stated: “He’s an incredibly honorable and talented young man. I can vouch for him, being an older guy, and I am thrilled about his success with the show. It’s a gorgeous series, and he’s doing a fantastic job.”

Clooney also shared that he would love to be a part of the show if given the opportunity, although he admitted that he hasn’t mustered the courage to ask them directly yet: “I would gladly accept [a role in The Pitt]… [But] it’s Noah’s show. I don’t want to interrupt it. But I’m very proud of him, if I may say so.”

Could this lead to a revival of the series ER?

HBO’s CEO, Casey Bloys, was thrilled by Clooney’s statement, as he told Deadline: “Of course, he’s welcome!”

If George Clooney were to join the cast, this could potentially turn “The Pitt” into the much-anticipated “ER” reboot it was initially meant to be. However, this idea was eventually scrapped during script development as the “reunion” aspect was overshadowing the series’ plotlines, as Noah Wyle explained to TV Line: “The more we went down that path, the more the objective got clouded by the reunion, re-run, or reboot aspect. So, I didn’t regret it when we decided to pivot and find a new way to tell the story.”

The first season of “The Pitt” is available on HBO Max, and the second season is set to air in January.
