Good Newwz, featuring Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and DiljitDosanjh in the lead roles got released on 27th December 2019. The movie was able to collect a good amount at the box office on Day 1. Although the Box-office numbers are not entirely satisfying as it was expected to be, the film has managed to gross about 17.56 crores on the first day itself.
Good Newwz is going strong at the box-office; however, it will face stiff competition from Dabangg 3 that released on the same weekend. With CAA protests going strong, the film is likely to face a tough challenge in crunching high numbers at the box office. As per the experts, the movie is witnessing an occupancy of about 30 percent in the morning hours.
However, these numbers are useful when multiplexes are taken into consideration. In the meantime, there is some bad news for the film as a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) is being filed in the Karnataka High Court that might halt its release in the state. The director, Raj Mehta, or the actors of the film have remained silent on this issue and have not stated anything to the media.
With such problems, it would be exciting to see how the film performs in the upcoming days. Also, as everyone is all set to enter 2020 in a couple of days, it is expected that the box office numbers will witness an upward trend soon.
