The Kollywood movie Kanchana was a huge hit in the year 2011. It was the director Raghava Lawrence who had written, directed and produced the movie. The movie starred Sarathkumar, Lakshmi Rai, Kovai Sarala, Devdarshini. It was a comedy horror and one of its kind.
Recently it has come to news that the movie Kanchanna is getting a Bollywood remake. Akshay Kumar will play the lead character, and the director Lawrence will resume his role. But it seems like not all went according to the plan.
Director Lawrence took to twitter to make an announcement that he will be stepping down from the role. He tweeted “There is an old popular saying in Tamil which tells ‘Don’t step into any house where there is no respect’. In this world more than money and fame, self-respect is the most important attribute to a person’s character. So I have decided to step out of the project Laxmi Bomb, the Hindi remake of Kanchana. I don’t want to mention the reason because there are multiple reasons but one of them is that the first look poster of the film was released today without my knowledge and even without discussing anything with me. I was informed about this by a third person. It was very painful for a director to know about his movie’s first look release by others. I feel very disrespected and disappointed. As a creator, I’m also not satisfied with the poster design as well. This shouldn’t happen to any director.”
He however mentioned that he respects Akshay Kumar and wishes the movie tremendous success. The hurt director was approached by Akshay Kumar and they addressed their problems. He announced on twitter again that he is back as the director of the movie.
The movie Laxmi Bomb will be a comedy horror movie where a man gets possessed by a transgender, and starts acting like one. Akshay is known to make socially important movies and we hope his movie Laxmi Bomb also preaches a social message.
