Popular Actor Joins Yellowstone Sequel, Dutton Ranch: You Won’t Believe Who it is!

The follow-up to “Yellowstone” named “The Dutton Ranch”, focusing on characters Rip and Beth, has added an esteemed American actor with countless successful roles to its cast.

The filming of The Dutton Ranch hasn’t started yet, but the casting of the new Yellowstone series already has us excited. This spin-off, focusing on characters Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton, will feature their original series performers, Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, as well as Finn Little, who plays their adopted son, Carter.

This cult actor, nominated for Oscars four times, joins the series cast!

A few weeks ago, we learned that the series will also feature Annette Bening as a lovable yet tough Texas ranch owner. The American actress will be joined by another actor who has been nominated for Oscars multiple times, as it’s been announced that Ed Harris will also be part of The Dutton Ranch cast.

Seen in many successful films such as Apollo 13, A History of Violence, and even in the series Westworld, Ed Harris is expected to play a vet known for his love for animals and his formidable sense of humor. This role is a departure for the actor, who has typically played tough characters throughout his career.

Broadcast starting in 2026?

While filming hasn’t started yet, the series is expected to be released in 2026. Before that, Yellowstone fans will have the chance to enjoy other spin-offs like The Madison (a sequel with Michelle Pfeiffer) or the Kayce Dutton spin-off, Y: Marshals (currently in production). The prequel 1944 is still in development, and its cast hasn’t been announced yet.

The Dutton Ranch is described as a direct follow-up to Yellowstone. The western series was supposed to continue beyond season 5, but Kevin Costner’s departure ultimately accelerated its conclusion. The final episode saw John Dutton’s children selling the family ranch and building their own ranch on entirely new lands.

All five seasons of Yellowstone can now be found in full on Paramount+.
