In the third season of “Daryl Dixon” a character connected to Rick Grimes is mentioned, yet this character has never shown up in “The Walking Dead”.
We all know about Rick Grimes, the former sheriff played by Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead and the mini-series The Ones Who Live. Rick has two children, Carl and Judith, from his relationship with his deceased ex-wife Lori and a third child, RJ, from his relationship with Michonne.
Requesting the Grimes’ Brother
This covers the entire Grimes family tree, except for one missing character. During the eleven seasons of The Walking Dead, Rick’s brother has never been shown on screen, nor has he ever been mentioned in the horror series or any of its spin-offs.
However, a new episode of Daryl Dixon’s third season has revealed the existence of Jeffrey Grimes for the first time. During a conversation with Antonio (Eduardo Noriega), Carol (Melissa McBride) briefly mentions the city of Barcelona, which she has never visited, but where a friend’s brother once lived.
Only Die-Hard Comic Fans Know This Character
Many fans probably overlooked this seemingly insignificant line. However, it indeed refers to Rick Grimes’ brother. This character made an appearance in a spin-off of the comic, titled The Walking Dead: Alien. This comic revealed that Jeffrey was in Spain when the world ended.
Never able to return to his home country, he eventually died in Barcelona. This doesn’t bode well for Carol and Daryl, who now find themselves in the same predicament as Jeffrey Grimes… Let’s hope for a more favorable outcome for our two heroes, whose adventures can be followed weekly exclusively on Paramount+.
