Walking Dead Vanishes from Netflix, Instantly Pops Up on Another Streaming Platform!

Just a day after its departure from Netflix, the complete series of The Walking Dead made its debut on another streaming platform.

Its absence ended up lasting only a few weeks. In September, we reported on the removal of the entire series of The Walking Dead from Netflix’s catalog. The 11 seasons of the horror show, one of the most popular of the 2010s, were thus no longer available for streaming since that date… at least on Netflix.

In 2025 on Netflix, and in 2026 on…

But it took just 24 hours for the series to land on another streaming platform. As of January 1st, all 11 seasons are now available on Disney+. This is a unique new home for the franchise, as the platform has never before aired any series from this horror universe.

Produced by the Fox company (owned by the Disney group), The Walking Dead could gradually be joined by other spin-off productions: Fear the Walking Dead, as well as Daryl Dixon, Dead City, and the mini-series The Ones Who Live (not to mention World Beyond, even though this one is more obscure).

A landmark series of the 2010s in more ways than one

The Walking Dead is the adaptation of the eponymous comic book by Robert Kirkman. In an apocalyptic world set in our time, humanity is faced with a virus turning the dead into zombies. A group of survivors rally around former sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and from season 9, around Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus).

One of the most popular series of the 2010s, The Walking Dead is remembered for its particularly bloody killings. Its ability to eliminate its heroes — including the most popular ones — has long been part of its DNA. We also remember its iconic villains, starting with the formidable Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

All 11 seasons of The Walking Dead can now be found exclusively on Disney+.
