Game of Thrones Star Joins Andrew Lincoln in Shocking New Walking Dead Spin-Off!

Andrew Lincoln appears to have moved on from “The Walking Dead,” as he shares a sneak peek of his brand new series set to premiere on Paramount+ in 2026.

Andrew Lincoln is stepping into a new world. The British actor, widely known for his role in the TV show The Walking Dead (and of course the movie Love Actually), had taken a break from the horror series due to family reasons. He made a triumphant return in 2023 with the mini-series The Ones Who Live.

What is his new series about?

His comeback might actually be his final goodbye. It appears that Andrew Lincoln is turning a new leaf, as he’s set to appear in a new series titled Coldwater starting January 9. In this British production, he plays the role of John, a family man grappling with an existential crisis after witnessing a brutal attack.

Leaving London for the Scottish countryside, John hopes to give his family a fresh start and breathe new life into his marriage with Fiona. They quickly become friends with a local couple. However, doubts soon arise about the true intentions of these friends who seem to be hiding their real nature…

A return to The Walking Dead isn’t entirely off the table

Straddling psychological drama and thriller, Coldwater is a six-episode mini-series. Created by David Ireland, the show also stars Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones) as Fiona, as well as Ewen Bremner and Eve Myles in the roles of friends Tommy and Rebecca.

Co-produced by ITV and Showtime, the mini-series will air globally on Paramount+, including France. Given the “limited” nature of this series (no season 2 planned), many hope that it won’t prevent Andrew Lincoln from returning to The Walking Dead franchise, perhaps for the grand finale of the Daryl Dixon series.

The mini-series Coldwater will be available exclusively on Paramount+ starting January 9.
