Spoiler alert. It is recommended that you watch episode 4 of the series “Star Wars: The Acolyte” before proceeding with this article.
Streaming since the 5th of June on Disney+, The Acolyte is the new series from the Star Wars galaxy, created by showrunner and executive producer Leslye Headland (Russian Doll). This show explores a less-known period of the universe as it takes us back about a century before the events of the movie Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
While the Jedi Order is at its peak and prosperity reigns in the High Republic, several mysterious crimes are committed. Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae) will conduct an investigation that pits him against a dangerous warrior from his past.
As new clues emerge and the noose tightens around the Jedi Order, they both embark on a dark path where sinister forces show them that things are not always as they appear…
Who is the Wookiee Jedi?
While this new Star Wars series takes us back to a prosperous and blessed period of the Jedi, it also introduces the first live-action Wookiee Jedi! Named Kelnacca, this Wookiee Jedi is part of the group of Jedi who had gone to Brendok to inspect the community of Osha and Mae.
Since this complex mission, which separated Osha and Mae (Amandla Stenberg) and led to the killing of the community, Kelnacca has gone into hiding alone on the planet Khofar. And that’s exactly where Sol, Osha, Yord (Charlie Barnett), and Jecki (Dafne Keen) go looking for him, as do Mae and Qimir (Manny Jacinto), in the fourth episode.
But they are attacked by the main antagonist with the red lightsaber, already seen at the end of the first episode of The Acolyte, before finding Kelnacca. He is portrayed by an actor who is well acquainted with these creatures.
