Hurray! Or rather, brava! Emily in Paris is set to grace our screens once more, much to our delight. Netflix has indeed renewed the American series for a sixth season, following the impressive results recorded by season 5 in December.
These new episodes, which feature Lily Collins traveling between France and Italy, garnered 27 million views in two weeks. A commendable score that makes Emily in Paris one of the most popular series on the platform over the years. For Netflix, the numbers add up. It’s easy to produce (with nearly one season per year), it benefits local tourism, and guest stars are lining up to appear…
Season 6 in Greece?
Darren Star, the creator of Emily in Paris, seems to have found the winning formula: taking our heroine on a tour of Europe. While season 5 largely took place in Italy, the young woman has definitely moved on from that chapter. In the last episode, Emily receives an unexpected invitation: to join Gabriel in Greece, where he is taking a few days off.
Without a doubt, Emily will trade her Parisian life to explore the joys of the Cyclades (Emily in Paros?)… and perhaps give the handsome chef another shot. By providing a different setting for the series, the writers can afford to tell the same stories over and over again. But this time, we hope our doomed lovers will finally find their way back to each other.
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Lucien Laviscount, and Minnie Driver (who bought a part of Sylvie’s company) are expected to return in the upcoming episodes.
Netflix has not specified this, but it would seem almost logical for this sixth season of Emily in Paris to be the last, with Emily having experienced all aspects of her job in the capital and explored all her relationships. We will likely have to wait until the end of the year or 2027 for the answer.
