Critically Panned 2.9/5 Rated Show with Star-Studded Cast Shockingly Renewed for Season 2!

Despite historically bad reviews, the series “All’s Fair” aired on Disney+ in France has just been renewed for a second season.

In bad taste“, “existentally terrible“, or even “written by a two-year-old“, the English-speaking press had a field day celebrating the first episodes of All’s Fair, the latest creation from star scriptwriter Ryan Murphy. It seems that this “lamentably bad show” has ultimately found its audience, as a second season has officially been ordered according to our colleagues at Variety.

Record-breaking Numbers

Launched on November 4th, the series was a massive hit for the Hulu platform where it aired in the United States. Although exact numbers have not been disclosed, Variety reports that All’s Fair has shot straight to the top of the platform’s viewership rankings, becoming the best launch for an original series in three years (based on the first three days of broadcast).

Hulu

These historic numbers are all the more impressive since the series is (still today) rather poorly rated on various specialized sites: 2/5 on AlloCiné press side, 3% favorable reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, 2.6/10 on Metacritic, etc.

A True Public Success

However, the press’s ratings should be taken with a grain of salt, as the public seems to have had a much better time watching All’s Fair than the journalists: 2.9/5 on AlloCiné viewer’s side and 66% favorable reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. The exploits of this team of divorce lawyers managed to entertain the viewers, who were captivated both by the atmosphere and by the stellar cast.

Creator Ryan Murphy certainly didn’t hold back with his new group of heroines: Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, Kim Kardashian in a main role… An impressive cast that gives this unabashed series a certain charm, especially when these world-renowned stars enjoy parodying their image, with the public’s complicity.

While waiting for a release date for season 2, All’s Fair season 1 is available on Disney+.
