Will Netflix’s ‘The Night Agent’ Return for Season 4? Shocking Answer Revealed!

There’s no official word yet, but it looks like “The Night Agent” Season 4 is all but confirmed. Netflix and Sony seem to have planned ahead… in Los Angeles.

Officially, Netflix hasn’t said a word. Unofficially, “The Night Agent” is definitely getting a fourth season. Sony Pictures Television has secured a Californian tax credit of $31.6 million (40% of the budget) to relocate the shooting to Los Angeles, according to Deadline. This move leaves little room for doubt.

Writers’ Room Already in Full Swing

The writers’ room is already working on the fourth season, even though Netflix hasn’t officially greenlit it yet. But with such a substantial tax credit on the line, the streaming platform has every reason to approve the project quickly. Created by Shawn Ryan (The Shield), the series follows Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), a low-level FBI agent recruited by the secret organization Night Action.

So far, “The Night Agent” has been quite the globe-trotter: Season 1 was shot in Vancouver, Seasons 2 and 3 in New York, with stops in Thailand and Turkey. For the potential Season 4, both the shooting and the plot are headed to Los Angeles. It’s believed that Shawn Ryan is behind this change in direction.

A Set Schedule Ahead

Netflix is keen on maintaining an annual release schedule. Season 2, filmed between February and July 2024, premiered in January 2025. Season 3, shot from February to July 2025, is expected to debut in early 2026. Logically, if Netflix wants to stick with this schedule, the filming for Season 4 should start at the beginning of 2026 for a release at the start of 2027.

All signs point to the official renewal announcement coming soon. With its millions of viewers and international success, “The Night Agent” remains a cornerstone of Netflix’s thriller catalog. The question is no longer “if,” but “when” the confirmation will come.
