Rowan Atkinson makes a comeback with “Man vs Baby”, knocking “Stranger Things” off the top spot in Netflix’s global Top 10 series. A totally unexpected surprise!

From the bee… to the baby!
Three years after “Man vs Bee”, Rowan Atkinson reprises his role as Trevor Bingley in “Man vs Baby”. This British mini-series, consisting of four 30-minute episodes, amounting to just two hours in total, was released on Netflix on December 11. The result? A nice success worldwide with 19.1 million views and 37.6 million hours watched in its first week.
The series thus outdoes Stranger Things and the first part of its season 5, which had been reigning in the rankings for weeks, as well as the controversial documentary about Diddy.
Trevor Bingley is back
After the chaos caused by a particularly persistent bee, Trevor Bingley left the stressful world of house sitting to become a caretaker in a school. However, a tempting offer to look after a huge, ultra-luxurious penthouse in London over Christmas, plunges him back into his old habits.
The catch? On the last day of school in his caretaker role, no one comes to pick up the Baby Jesus from the live nativity scene, and Trevor finds himself stuck with a baby to take care of…
The series, created by Rowan Atkinson and William Davies (the Johnny English franchise), brings back director David Kerr. The cast includes Robert Bathurst (Downton Abbey), Nina Sosanya, Ashley Jensen (Shetland) and Susannah Fielding.

A success far greater than the first installment
“Man vs Baby” has a much stronger start than its predecessor. While “Man vs Bee” had a decent start in 2022, the new series has skyrocketed in its first few days. This success could pave the way for a third installment if Rowan Atkinson finds inspiration.
The 70-year-old actor shared that Trevor is one of the “nicest characters” he has ever played, a far cry from the cynicism of Blackadder or the selfishness of Mr. Bean.
